Native Submixes
Native submixes are run entirely from your computer's own processing power, as if you were using Nuendo or Logic. There are advantages and disadvantages to this.
Advantages:
- extra "live" submixes without buying additional EDS cards.
- more plug-in flexibility, eg VST and DX plugins on auxes
- if the processing power is available to take advantage of them, can be great "temp" areas for secondary tracks
Disadvantages:
- require computer processing power much as any other native DAW like Nuendo might
- can't access EDS effects
- sometimes asserted to lack the sonic "magic" of PARIS
- implemented late in the product cycle with no time for revision, and thus may contain bugs or destabilize PARIS
